Top Promising Companies To Invest In 2014

Intel (NASDAQ: INTC  ) talks a big game about its future, promising to make its way into nearly every computing device imaginable. Whether it's PCs, tablets, smartphones, or other computing devices, Intel wants its processors to power the future of computing. To date, Intel hasn't been very successful in delivering on its promise, given that the world has embraced mobile computing faster than Intel can keep up with.

For Intel to remain relevant in the world of mobile computing, it needs to deliver a highly efficient yet powerful mobile computing solution that outperforms the sea of ARM Holdings (NASDAQ: ARMH  ) designs. Moreover, it should probably get used to the fact that it won't be able to command the premiums it's grown accustomed to in the PC world.

To pull off this foray into mobile computing, Intel is banking on its leading-edge capacity to carry the weight of its ambitions, which bears the lowest unit cost, offers the highest performance, and consumes the lowest power. In other words, after a complete makeover, Intel Atom will hopefully become Intel's knight in shining armor on nearly all computing fronts.

    Tuesday's Range: $5.21-$5.55

    52-Week Range: $3.08-$8.50

    Tuesday's Volume: 1.78 million

    Three-Month Average Volume: 1.72 million

From a technical perspective, KNDI jumped higher here right above some near-term support at $5.07 with above-average volume. This move is quickly pushing shares of KNDI within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade. That trade will hit if KNDI manages to take out Tuesday's high of $5.55 to some more resistance at $5.72 with high volume.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in KNDI as long as it's trending above some near-term support at $5.07 or above its 50-day at $4.85 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 1.72 million shares. If that breakout hits soon, then KNDI will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $6.50 to $7.

The market has no qualms about Kandi Technologies (KNDI), however. The Chinese company that makes small electric vehicles is up 9.6% at $16.13, the highest close since April 2.

Top Promising Companies To Invest In 2014: YPF Sociedad Anonima(YPF)

YPF SOCIEDAD ANONIMA, an energy company, engages in the exploration, development, and production of crude oil, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Argentina. The company also involves in refining, marketing, transportation, and distribution of oil and a range of petroleum products, petroleum derivatives, petrochemicals, LPG, and bio-fuels; and gas separation and natural gas distribution operations. As of December 31, 2010, it had proved reserves of approximately 531 million barrels of oil and 2,533 billion cubic feet of gas; and retail distribution network of 1,622 YPF-branded service stations for automotive petroleum products. The company?s crude oil transportation network includes approximately 2,700 kilometers of crude oil pipelines with approximately 640,000 barrels of aggregate daily transportation capacity of refined products; crude oil tankage of approximately 7 million barrels; and terminal facilities at 5 Argentine ports. In addition, it participates in 3 power stations with an aggregate installed capacity of 1,622 megawatts. The company was founded in 1977 and is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. YPF SOCIEDAD ANONIMA is a subsidiary of Repsol YPF, S.A.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By fedezaldua]

Last year, the Argentinean government nationalized 51% of YPF (YPF) from Madrid based Repsol (REPYY), which still holds a 12.4% stake in Argentina's biggest oil and gas company. When the nationalization happened, Argentina's government argued that the Spanish group had not been investing enough in the country. Hence, the lack of investments had left Argentina without its very much appreciated external surplus in oil and gas. Even when its true that YPF's Capex investments were kept at a minimum level from 2003 to 2011, its also true that low Capex was a direct result of Argentina's (very) poor and unsustainable energy policies.

  • [By Charles Sizemore]

Not that I feel sorry for Argentina, of course. The country got itself into this mess by borrowing too much money and then arrogantly refusing to pay it back. Argentina has also pursued a range of disastrous anti-market policies over the past decade, has made a habit of expropriating foreign assets (as was the case when it effectively stole Repsol YPF (YPF) stake), and has even contributed to the soaring world price of beef by restricting exports in a boneheaded attempt to contain inflation.

  • [By Arjun Sreekumar]

And second, management had indicated that the February Argentina asset sale to state-owned YPF (NYSE: YPF  ) for $800 million in cash marked the end of its asset divestiture program. "[The Argentina] transaction essentially marks the end of a process that Apache began last year to rebalance its portfolio to focus on assets in North America that can grow more predictably combined with international assets that generate substantial free cash flow," said G. Steven Farris, Apache's CEO, in a company news release concerning the sale of its Argentinian assets.
